The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) will be updating its interpreter pay rate as of January 8, 2024. The current contract will be amended to reflect these changes.
The pay rate increase reflects industry trends and the integral work of interpreters as part of the proceedings at the
IRB. Interpreters provide a clear channel of communication between decision-makers and the individuals appearing before the
IRB with diverse linguistic backgrounds.
