The following summary report of alleged professional conduct violations by counsel was published in line with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada's (IRB)
Policy on Disclosing Information Regarding the Conduct of Authorized Representatives to Regulatory Bodies and associated procedures.
In FY 2024 to 2025 the IRB took action on 48 counsel conduct matters:
- disclosed information about counsel conduct to a regulatory body in 32 cases
- of the 32 cases:
- 22 involved lawyers regulated by provincial bar associations
- 8 involved consultants regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants
- 2 involved paralegals regulated by the Law Society of Ontario
- wrote letters to counsel in 16 of the matters
